PRIVACY POLICY

Breath is Here ("we," "us") is operated by Ashley James (doing business as Breath is Here), based in California. This policy explains what we collect when you visit breathishere.com, join a waitlist, or take a program, and what we do with it. Questions: hello@breathishere.com.

 

What we collect

  • What you give us: your name, email address, account login, messages you send us, and answers to optional surveys.

  • Survey answers: our waitlist survey asks about your experience level, what has made practice hard, and how you prefer to practice. Some answers may describe your body, health or disability. Every question is optional.

  • Purchases: payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal through Squarespace. We see your name, email and what you bought. We never see or store your full card number.

  • Program activity: which program you're enrolled in and which lessons you've opened.

  • Automatically: basic device, browser and page-visit information collected by Squarespace, and video-play data collected by Vimeo, including through cookies.

  • Live classes: if you join a live class on Zoom, whatever you choose to share: your name, and your video and audio if you turn them on.

How we use it

  • To run your account, deliver the program, and send program emails.

  • To design programs around what people need. That's what the survey is for.

  • To answer your questions.

  • To send occasional updates about Breath is Here. You can unsubscribe from any email.

  • To keep the site secure and meet legal obligations.

Health and disability information

Answers about your body, health or disability are used only to shape our programs. We never sell them, never use them for advertising, and never share them beyond the service providers listed below. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

 

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We use these service providers to run the business, and they only get what they need to do their job:

  • Squarespace: website, accounts, courses and checkout

  • Stripe and PayPal: payment processing

  • Kit: email

  • Vimeo: video hosting

  • Zoom: live classes

  • Google Workspace: our email inbox

We may also share information if the law requires it.

 

Live class recordings

Live classes may be recorded. Recordings are shared only with people enrolled in that program, inside the course, and never posted publicly. Cameras and microphones are optional. If you'd rather not appear, keep them off or use your first name only.

 

How long we keep it

As long as you have an account or are on our email list, and as long as needed for tax and legal records after that. Ask us and we'll delete what we don't have to keep.

 

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email.

  • Ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing hello@breathishere.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

  • California residents can request details on what personal information we've collected and shared.

  • Do Not Track: our site doesn't currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.

Age

Our programs are for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

 

Security

We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

 

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above. If a change is significant, we'll email you.
